How to Add Bookmarks to Your iPad

Even if you get your tablet bookmarks off to a flying start by copying a bunch of them from your Mac or PC, and now have a large collection at your beck and call, that doesn’t mean your bookmark collection is complete. After all, you might (heck, you will) find some interesting sites while you’re surfing with the iPad or iPad mini.

If you think you might want to pay a site another visit down the road, you can follow these steps to create a new bookmark right on the tablet:

  1. Use Safari to navigate to the site that you want to save.

  2. Tap the Share button.

  3. Tap Add Bookmark. This opens the Add Bookmark screen shown in the figure.

  4. Tap in the top box, and type a name for the site that helps you remember it. This name is what you see when you scroll through your bookmarks.

  5. Tap Location. This displays a list of your bookmark folders.

  6. Tap the folder you want to use to store the bookmark. Safari returns you to the Add Bookmark screen.

  7. Tap Save. Safari saves the bookmark.

Use the Add Bookmark screen to specify a bookmark’s name and location.

Here’s a quick way to add a bookmark to the Favorites: Double-tap the address bar to open it for editing, swipe down to reveal the commands, and then tap Add to Favorites.
