Notification Options on Your Gear S2
Notifications are nice, but they can also be annoying if you keep getting a notification every few seconds. You can change the notifications that appear on your Gear S2 while you’re wearing it by tapping Notifications. In the Notifications screen, you can turn notifications off completely by tapping On at the top of the screen shown.
After you tap On, the green slider and green ON slider change to a gray slider and a gray OFF slider, and the rest of the options on the screen are disabled. If you keep notifications on, you can change five different notification settings.
When you tap Manage Notifications in the list, you see the Notifications screen that you saw when you first set up your Galaxy S2. Swipe up and down to view all the apps on the Gear S2 that will give you notifications on your smartwatch.
You can turn off notifications for an app by tapping the check box to the left of the selected app icon; when you do so, the check box turns white. If you want to turn on notifications for an app, tap the white check box to turn the check box green and add the white check mark.
If you prefer to receive notifications from all your apps, tap the All check box at the left side of the orange menu bar that appears at the top of the screen. When you’re finished, tap Done at the right side of the menu bar.

If you have one or more notifications from apps you selected in the Manage Notifications screen, the Gear S2 will prevent those app notifications from appearing on the smartwatch when your smartphone screen is on. However, you will still receive alarms on your Gear S2 when your smartphone screen is on.
You can turn off this feature by tapping Limit Notifications. When you do so, the green slider and green ON icon change to a gray slider and gray OFF icon.
Turn On Screen
When you receive a new notification, the Gear S2 screen doesn’t come on. If you want the screen to come on, tap Turn On Screen to turn the gray slider and gray OFF icon to a green slider and green ON icon.
Auto Show Details
By default, the Gear S2 screen shows the details for notifications when you receive them. If you want to view only the title of the notification, tap Auto Show Details; the green slider and green ON slider change to a gray slider and green OFF icon.
If you want to read your Gear S2 notifications on your smartphone, tap Smart Relay to change the gray slider and gray OFF icon to a green slider and green ON icon. The Smart Relay feature works only if your Gear S2 screen is on and the smartphone is unlocked.
Some smartphones don’t support the Smart Relay feature. If you’re not sure whether your smartphone supports Smart Relay, contact either your smartphone manufacturer or Samsung at 1-800-SAMSUNG (that’s 1-800-726-7864) to talk with a customer service representative and find out how well the Gear S2 plays with your smartphone.
Return to the main screen by tapping the Back icon at the left side of the orange menu bar that appears at the top of the screen.
