Setting Up the Stocks App on Your iPhone
The Stocks app is a handy little preinstalled app on your iPhone that helps you keep track of your investment portfolio. Stocks also shows the current exchange status for the SAP 500, NASDAQ, and Dow Jones.
Your favorite stock gains or losses are displayed in Notification Center by default. To get the most out of Stocks, you’ll want to set it up to display your stocks rather than the handful that are shown by default.
To modify the stocks displayed by Stocks, both in the app and Notification Center, follow these steps:
Tap Stocks on the Home screen.
Tap the Menu button in the bottom-right corner.
In the following screen, tap the red circular Delete button to the left of any stock and then tap Delete to remove it from your list.
To add a stock, tap the Add button in the upper-left corner of the same screen.
Enter a company name or a stock symbol and then tap the correct match in the results that appear. The stock is added to your list.
Note that you can choose to display percentages, price, or market cap information by tapping a tab along the bottom of the list.
Your new mix of stocks and stock exchanges is now shown when you swipe down from the top of your phone screen to display Notification Center, or when you tap the Stocks app on the Home screen.
