How to Customize the File Explorer Quick Access Toolbar from Windows 10

By Peter Weverka

In File Explorer, the Quick Access toolbar presents two useful buttons for managing files: Properties (which opens the Properties dialog box so that you can learn more about a file) and New Folder (which creates a new folder). As well as those buttons, you can place others on the Quick Access toolbar by following these steps:

  1. Select the Customize Quick Access Toolbar button.

  2. Select a button from the drop-down list.

The buttons are Undo, Redo, Delete, and Rename.

  3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to add more buttons, if you want.

To remove a button from the Quick Access toolbar, open the drop-down list and deselect a button name.
