View Polar Equation Table and Graph on the Same TI-83 Screen

After you’ve graphed your polar equations and created a table for the polar equations on the TI-83 Plus graphing calculator, you can view the graph and the table on the same screen. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Press [MODE].

  2. Put the calculator in G-T screen mode.

    To do so, use the

    keys to place the cursor on G-T in the bottom right hand corner of the Mode menu and press [ENTER] to highlight it.

  3. Press [GRAPH].

    After you press [GRAPH], the graph and the table appear on the same screen.

If you press any key used in graphing polar equations, such as [ZOOM] or [TRACE], the cursor becomes active on the graph side of the screen. To return the cursor to the table, press [2nd][GRAPH].

If you press [TRACE] and then use the

keys to trace the graph, the value of the independent variable

corresponding to the cursor location on the graph will be highlighted in the table and the column for the polar equation you’re tracing will appear next to it. If necessary, the calculator updates the table so you can see that row in the table.

To view the graph or the table in Full-Screen mode, follow these steps:

  1. Press [MODE].

  2. Put the calculator in Full screen mode.

    To do so, use the

    keys to place the cursor on Full in the lower-left corner of the Mode menu and press [ENTER] to highlight it.

  3. Press [GRAPH] to see the graph, or press [2nd][GRAPH] to see the table.
