The Essentials of the Office 2011 for Mac Ribbon

The Ribbon, new to Office 2011 for the Mac, is a sophisticated, yet easy interface component. It's like a large, thick toolbar that takes up a fixed area on the screen. At the top of the Ribbon is a row of tabs, each of which is almost like a menu or toolbar. The Ribbon has large icons, or buttons, that you click to perform tasks. Some buttons can spawn small menus or galleries or summon a dialog.
