Testing Your Drupal Site Ordering Process
To see how your Drupal site storefront works, you should test it. At this point, you have no payment mechanism tied into your store. When someone adds products to her cart and checks out, she is presented with a form to gather information.
When she finishes, she is sent a confirmation e-mail, you’re sent an e-mail notifying you of the order, and the order information is saved on an administration page on your Drupal site. To test it for yourself, follow these steps:
Log out as Administrator by clicking the Log Out link.
You should now see any products you added on the main page of your site.
Click the Add to Cart button for one of the products.
This opens the Shopping cart form.
The shopping cart lists all the items a shopper has added and the total cost. This form also allows him to update or remove items.
Click the Checkout button.
This opens the Checkout form.
Fill in a valid e-mail address in the E-mail Address field.
This is where the order confirmation will be sent after a shopper completes this form.
In the Deliver Information section, fill out the required information in these text boxes: First Name, Last Name, Street Address, City, Country, State/Province, and Postal Code.
Select the My Billing Information Is the Same as My Delivery Information check box.
This handy box pulls the information from the Delivery Information section automatically and enters it into the Billing Information fields.
Click Review Order.
This opens a confirmation page with the information the shopper has entered. At this point, the shopper can click Back to change the order, or click Submit Order to finalize it.
Click Submit Order.
An Order Complete message appears.
If the user had no account on your site, a new one is created for her automatically.
