Recording Video with Your Kindle Fire HDX

Are your friend and you trying parasailing for the first time? Is it your daughter’s sixteenth birthday? Do you want to capture midnight at your New Year’s Eve party? You’ll be happy to hear that you can use your Kindle Fire HDX to capture and play back video.

To capture a video, follow these steps:

  1. On the Home screen, swipe upward to scroll down to the Favorites grid and tap the Camera app.

    The Camera opens.

  2. Tap the Camera/Video button. (In portrait orientation, this appears on the top-left corner; in landscape, it’s on the left side of the screen about a third of the way down.)

To set this app to take videos, make sure that the video camera symbol is the larger of the two; if it isn’t, tap the button again.

  3. Tap the red Record button (see the following figure).

Tap the big red button to begin recording.
Tap the big red button to begin recording.
  4. When you’re ready to stop recording video, tap the Stop button. (It replaced the Record button and looks like a small, white square in a red circle.)

Your video appears to the right of the Record button; tap it and tap again to play
