Prioritize Your WiFi Networks for Your BlackBerry PlayBook

As through this world you wander, you’ll see many WiFi networks you may choose to use. The BlackBerry PlayBook will keep track of those with which you have had successful communication, and sooner or later that list may become unwieldy. Besides being hard to manage, you may have a preference for one network over another because of signal strength or security.

Here’s how to prioritize your saved WiFi networks. That way the PlayBook first tries the one you prefer and then works its way down the list if necessary:

  1. Tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the home screen.

  2. Tap the WiFi tab on the left side of the screen.

    You’ll see the WiFi panel.

  3. Tap the down arrow next to Select a Network.

  4. Tap Saved Networks.

    The list appears.

  5. Touch and hold on the network you prefer and drag it to the top of the list.

You can do this as many times as you want with other networks so that you end up with their names in the order you prefer.

Drag a network up or down on the list to establish your priorities.
