Place iPhone 4S Calls Using Contacts and Return Recent Calls
If you've created a contact on your iPhone 4S and included a phone number in that contact record, you can use the Contacts app to place a call. If you want to dial a number from a call you’ve recently made or received, you can use Recents.
To place a call using Contacts, follow these steps:
Tap the Phone icon in any Home screen dock.
Tap the Contacts button at the bottom of the screen.
In the Contacts list that appears, scroll up or down to locate the contact you need or tap a letter along the right side to jump to that section of the list.
Tap the contact to display his or her record. In the record that appears, tap the phone number field. The call is placed.
If you locate a contact and the record doesn’t include a phone number, you can add it at this point by tapping the Edit button, entering the number, and tapping Done. Then place your call following Step 4 in the preceding steps list.
To return a recent call, follow these steps:
Tap Phone in the Dock on any Home screen.
Tap the Recents button at the bottom of the screen. A list of recent calls that you’ve both made and received appears.
If you want to view only the calls you’ve missed, tap the Missed tab at the top of the screen.
Tap the arrow to the right of any item to view information about calls to or from this person.
Tap the Recents button to return to the Recents list, and then tap any call to place a call to that number.
To delete calls from your Recents list, with it displayed tap Edit. The list appears with circles containing minus symbols to the left of each item. Tap one of these circles and then tap the Delete button that appears. Tap Done to return to the Recents list.
