Open and Play Videos on Your Kindle Fire HD
Playing a video on your Kindle Fire HD is a simple process. If the video has been downloaded to your device, open the library (tap Videos, and then tap the Library button), locate the video, and then tap the video to play it. If you’ve played the video before, you may have to tap a Resume, Start Over, or Download button to get it going again.
If you’re streaming a video that’s stored in the Cloud for the first time, follow these steps:
On the Kindle Fire HD’s Home screen, tap Videos.
Tap the Library button in the top-right corner of the screen.
Tap the Cloud tab.
Videos you’ve rented (whose rental period hasn’t expired) or purchased are displayed.
Tap an item to open it.
If it’s a TV show, you see episodes listed; tap one to open it or tap the Buy button to buy an entire season.
If it’s a movie, at this point, you see a description of the movie and the option of watching it or downloading it.
Tap the Watch Now button.
The playback controls appear.
If you’ve already watched part of the video, tap the Resume button.
If you’d rather see a video you’ve previously watched from its start, tap the Play from Beginning button.
The video appears full screen. The title of the Movie appears at the bottom of the screen.
Note that the Kindle Fire HD screen provides an extra-wide viewing angle. This means that you and those watching with you (well, maybe one person watching with you — it does have a 7-inch or 8.9-inch screen, after all) can see the content from the side as well as from straight on.
The familiar playback tools available here include
A progress bar
A volume slider
A button that includes 10S in a circle that moves you ten seconds back in the video
In the case of TV shows, a Next Episode button.
There’s also a Back button in the Options bar that you can tap to stop playback and return to the Kindle Fire HD Videos library.
