Kindle Fire HDX's X-Ray Feature for Books

X-Ray now works with selected books. When a book is X-Ray-enabled, you can view information about characters in the book and jump to places in the book where they appear. You can also get information about locations and important terms.

Here's how to use X-Ray with books on your Kindle HDX:

  1. Open a book that is X-Ray-enabled, like the one shown in the first figure below.

  2. Tap the top of the screen to display the toolbar shown in the figure.

    You see an X-Ray button.

  3. Tap the X-Ray button.

    You see a list of items in the book.

  4. Tap All to see all people and terms; People to see just information about characters in the book; and Terms to see only locations and key terms (see the second figure below).

  5. Tap the blue spots on the bar to the right of each item to go to different locations in the book where that item is mentioned.
