Jump-Start Juice for a Nondairy Breakfast Boost
Start your day off right with a glass of healthy juice as an alternative to your favorite dairy products. Fruits and vegetables pack this juice with vitamins A and C, pineapple adds a touch of sweetness, and carrot juice adds a splash of color.
Preparation time: 3 minutes
Chilling time: 2 hours, or simply pour the beverage over ice
Yield: Four 1-cup servings
2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice (2 to 3 medium oranges)
1 cup fresh carrot juice
1 cup of pineapple juice (canned pineapple juice is okay)
Several mint leaves
-
Combine juices in a glass pitcher and stir gently to mix thoroughly.
-
Chill for an hour or two before serving, if desired.
-
Pour into serving glasses and garnish each glass with mint leaves.
Replace all or part of the pineapple juice or carrot juice with orange juice or fresh spinach liquefied in a juicer. Play with the proportions to get the flavor as you like it.
