Improve Educational Research with Safari's Reading List for iPad

Whether you're a student or a teacher, you can speed up your educational research on the iPad with Safari's Reading List. Reading List lets you save webpages without bookmarking them, to read later. Educational research becomes a breeze when you can quickly compile a list of applicable articles you want to read fully at a later time. Even on an iPad, with Reading List for Safari, Internet research is easy to do.

Reading List is included in Safari. When you come across any webpage that you want to revisit later, simply tap the curved arrow at the left of the address bar and select Add to Reading List from the menu. Your page is saved.

Whenever you want to go back and read anything in your Reading List, tap the Bookmarks icon in Safari and then tap the Reading List item at the top of the menu. Simple. This basically creates your list as a separate category in Bookmarks.

Reading List also categorizes your saved pages into Read and Unread tabs, which it updates every time you open and read a saved page. In iOS 5, Safari would save only a link to the page, and you’d need a live Internet connection to read it. In iOS 6, Safari saves the page itself to your device, complete with text, images, and layout.

You can also opt to sync that list with your other devices using your iCloud account. Add a page on your iPad and then read it later on your iPhone.

As nice as it is to have the Reading List built right into Safari, you can’t access it in other browsers. For example, if you use the Chrome browser on your iPad, you won’t be able to use or access your Reading list. Also, Reading List lacks other features, such as being able to see what your friends are reading.

Reading List is, however, a great place to start saving pages.
