iLife ’11: Exporting iPhoto Slideshows to iPad, iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV
5 of 12 in Series: The Essentials of Sharing and Presenting Photos with iPhoto
If you have a laptop, iPad, iPod, or iPhone, you no doubt already appreciate the iPhoto slideshows you can show others on the spot. Life slideshows can appear horizontally (in Landscape mode) on an iPad, iPod touch, iPod nano, or iPhone screen, and if you rotate the screen 180 degrees to the opposite horizontal position, it adjusts accordingly. All the controls you expect in a DVD player are on the screen at the touch of a finger. You can also view slideshows on an iPod classic.
Or, you can just sit back on your couch and let Apple TV offer up your slideshows. Apple TV is sort of a large iPod that wirelessly streams content from one or more iTunes libraries to play on your high-definition (HD) television and audio system.
To export your iPhoto slideshows for iPad, iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV, follow these steps:
Save the slideshow.
Select the slideshow in the Slideshows section of the Source pane and click the Export button in the middle of the toolbar, along the bottom of the iPhoto window.
Choose one or more format sizes for your exported slideshow.
If you choose more than one, multiple slideshow files are created and transferred to iTunes for synchronizing with these devices.
Select the Automatically Send Slideshow to iTunes option to send the slideshow to iTunes in one step.
Click Export to start the export operation, which may take quite a bit of time.
