How to Use Your PC’s Sleep Mode

Sleep mode, once known as Stand By or Suspend mode, saves energy but doesn’t quite turn the PC off. In Sleep mode, Windows saves what you're doing and then puts the computer to sleep — meaning into a special low-power mode. The computer isn't exactly off, and it restores itself quickly, which makes Sleep mode more effective as a way to shut down the computer. So, put your PC to sleep:

1

Click the Start menu button.

The Start menu opens.

2

Click the triangle icon in the lower right of the Start menu.

The Shutdown menu appears to the right of that icon.

3

Choose the Sleep command from the Shutdown menu.

Windows tells your PC to take a nap; it shuts off the lights and the screen goes blank.

To wake the computer from its slumber, you can wiggle the mouse or press a key on the keyboard. Be patient! Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the PC to wake up.

Good Day Betty, Look take the mouse and click the start shown when you leave the mouse on top of start. Then click, you should see a handbag on the same place when you started to see what you want, the "start". Now with the handbag look right and you will see the triangle. Hey with triangle they can also be shown with the triangle downwess, right, or left. Now if you can not see that then you have to go to see the Optionaless.
