How to Upload Your Videos to Facebook

You can upload videos to Facebook to share them with your friends. To upload videos to Facebook that you have recorded (and, obviously, moved from your camera onto your computer), follow the steps below.

Note that these steps are for uploading your own videos from your personal computer, not videos you find online, such as on YouTube. You can add YouTube videos to your Facebook profile by posting them as links.

1

Choose Video in your bottom left-hand Applications menu.

If Video doesn’t appear in your left-hand Applications menu, go to the Application Directory (click Edit next to the Apps menu) and find Video on any of the drop-down menus. Click on Edit Settings and bookmark it to appear on your Applications menu.

2

Click the big Upload button in the upper right.

You have several options here: File Upload, Mobile Upload, and Record Video. For our purpose here, we are going to do a File Upload.

3

Click the Browse button and select a video file from your computer.

The first time you upload a photo you will need to read and agree to the Terms of Service. Once you click Agree, Facebook starts uploading the video you selected. This might take a while. When it’s finished, you see an Upload Successful box. If you haven’t already done so, you can add a title and description of your video, as well as choose your privacy settings.

4

Click Save Info.

Your video is now up and running. It displays in your Video box on your profile, and might show up in your friends’ News Feeds.
