This is not how to string a guitar. The strings must be wound in a way that they lock themselves. The method shown here will only lead to bad intonation due to slipping strings. M

This is certainly the way most guitarists string a guitar, (sometimes during a gig). Locking the strings would be unusual, but nice if you have the time and inclination. Most guitarists do not bother but stretch the string, (as shown),to avoid slipping - and off you jolly well go!

The first Michael is right. This guy showed the sloppy way of doing things.this method not only to bad intonation the string will come out of tune, especially if use a tremelo bar that isn't double locking. Restringing by locking it takes no longer then doing it the wrong way. And the majority of the guitarist do stretch the strings otherwise you'll be retuning a couple songs later
