How to Start and Quit Transformation Graphing
With the Transformation Graphing application that comes preloaded on the TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators, you can investigate transformations of a graph without leaving the graphing screen.
How to start Transformation Graphing
To start the Transformation Graphing application, press [APPS][ALPHA], use
to move the cursor to the Transfrm application, and press [ENTER] to select the application. You are confronted with one of these three screens.
If no other applications are running, you see the first screen. Press any key except [2nd] or [ALPHA] to enter the Transformation Graphing application. If Transformation Graphing is already running, you see the second screen. Press to re-enter the application.
The third screen tells you that another application is currently running. Press to exit (overwrite) that application, and then press any key except [2nd] or [ALPHA] to enter Transformation Graphing.
After you enter Transformation Graphing, you are returned to the calculator’s Home screen, and it looks like the application is not running. Press [Y=], and you see a screen similar to the following. The symbols to the left of the functions in this screen indicate that the Transformation Graphing application is running.
When Transformation Graphing is not running, the graphing style symbols appear to the left of the functions in the Y= editor. Graphing styles are not available while Transformation Graphing is running.
How to quit Transformation Graphing
Most of the time, you don’t even know the Transformation Graphing application is running unless you are actively using the application or unless you press [Y=] to graph a normal function and see the symbols to the left of the functions in the Y= editor. Quitting the application so that you can graph normal functions is about as puzzling as knowing whether or not it is running.
To quit (exit) this application, press [APPS][ALPHA], use
to move the cursor to the Transfrm application, and press [ENTER] to select the application. When you see the second screen, press to quit (uninstall) the application. No, uninstall does not delete the application from your calculator, it just deactivates it.
