How to Share StumbleUpon Content across Social Media Networks

It’s a socially connected world we live in, right? So, of course you’ll want to share your StumbleUpon content with all your friends across the various social media networks — even those friends who haven’t yet joined the StumbleUpon juggernaut.

It’s just as easy to share with all your social media friends, too. And StumbleUpon doesn’t discriminate when it comes to which social media network you can use: From within StumbleUpon’s borders, you can share your Stumble via Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. To share a Stumble via Facebook, do the following:

  1. Click either the Facebook icon or the Share icon at the top left of the screen or on the StumbleBar.

If you click the Facebook icon, you’ll see a window open. The URL or website address will be present in this window, along with the title or headline of the particular page you’re sharing.

  2. (Optional) If desired, add a message to accompany your timeline posting.

  3. Click Send.

Your Share (along with any optional message) wends its way to your Facebook Timeline.

If you click the Share icon (either at the top of the screen or on the StumbleBar), a more generic window opens.

From there, click the Facebook icon at the lower left to access the Facebook share window.

To share a stumble via Twitter or LinkedIn, click the Share icon at the top of the screen or StumbleBar, click either the Twitter or LinkedIn icon (or both), add a message (if desired) in the window that appears, and then click Send.

Keep your sharing across social media networks at a manageable level; you don’t want to overload your friends and family with too much information.

How to connect or disconnect social networks accounts from StumbleUpon

There may come a time when you want to “link” or “unlink” one or more of your social media accounts from your StumbleUpon account. For example, you may have just joined LinkedIn and now want to connect it to your StumbleUpon Account.

Or you may decide you want to disconnect your Twitter account from your StumbleUpon account because you want to keep them separate.

Adding and/or removing a link from your StumbleUpon account to a social media account is quite simple, requiring only a few easy steps:

  1. Log on to your StumbleUpon account at StumbleUpon.com.

  2. Click the down-arrow (either in the upper-right corner of the screen, beside your profile picture on the StumbleBar, or alongside your Profile picture on StumbleUpon.com) and then choose Settings from the drop-down menu that appears.

How to share or disable automatic sharing activity to Facebook

If you were to take a look at the Connected Accounts tab on your Profile page, you’d see an option under Facebook that reads, “Add my activities to Facebook Timeline.”

By keeping the check box selected, you’ll automatically be sharing all your StumbleUpon Likes and Additions directly to your Facebook Timeline. To stop this automatic sharing of your Likes and Shares, simply deselect the check box. (You may see a popup window appear with the message “setting saved”; just click OK to continue.)
