How to Search the Web on Your Nexus 7

At the top of every Home screen on your Nexus 7 is the Google Now bar, which is the best way to search the web, the tablet, or just about anything else in your digital life. It’s a quick, efficient way to browse the web and it’s already conveniently available on your Home screen. Touch the bar to summon the Google Now app and begin your search.

The Google Now app comes standard on your Nexus 7. It is intended to make searching the web an easier experience for Nexus users.

You can still visit the Google web page using Chrome on your Nexus 7. Google Now is better.

To search for something when you’re viewing a web page in the Chrome app, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the web page where you want to find a specific tidbit o’ text.

  2. Press the Menu icon button.

  3. Choose Find in Page.

  4. Type the text you’re searching for.

  5. Use the up- or down-arrow button to locate that text on the page — up or down, respectively.

The found text appears highlighted in yellow.

Touch the Cancel (X) button when you’re done searching.
