How to Review Changes in a Word 2010 Document

Word 2010 allows you and other users to make changes to a document, using revision marks. Of course, you want to scrutinize every change made to your Word document. Word makes the task easy, thanks to commands in the Changes group, found on the Review tab.

Press Ctrl+Home to start at the top of a document that has revision marks.

Revision marks are added by comparing two documents or by using the Track Changes command on a document being edited.

Click the Next button to locate the next change in your document.

Word highlights that change.

Click the Accept button to approve a change or click the Reject button to keep your text the way it was originally.

You move to the next bit of modified text after clicking either the Accept or Reject button.

Repeat Step 3 until you've dealt with all the changes in the document.

When you’re in a real hurry, you can use the drop-down menus beneath either the Accept or Reject command button to choose either the Accept All Changes in Document or Reject All Changes in Document command, respectively.

When you find the last change and fix it (or not), a dialog box appears, explaining that your quest is over.

Close the dialog box.

All revision marks are removed from your document.

Save your document.

Be sure to give it a new name so that you know it's the result of combined efforts.

Use the X buttons to close various task panes that are open for the reviewing process.

After you've accepted or rejected all the changes, these task panes don't have much purpose.
