How to Post and Tag Your Etsy Listing
When you post an item on Etsy, you have the chance to describe how fabulous that item is. Etsy listings must include an item title and description. Adding tags makes your listing more visible on Google and in Etsy's Search feature. The steps for posting a listing and creating tags on Etsy are simple:
Click the List an Item Now button.
The List an Item page opens. If you have already started your Etsy listing, click the Draft Listings link under Items on the left side of the page to open it.
In the Item Title field, type a title for your item.
Etsy requires that you provide a title. Use one that will help consumers find your product.
In the Description field, enter a description of your item.
Etsy previews your listing so you can see how it shows up in Google search.
Click the Shop Section drop-down list and choose the section in which you want the listing to appear.
As you know, tagging is critical to Etsy's search functionality.
Type a tag for your item in the Tags field and click the Add button.
You can apply up to 14 tags to your listing. (The first tag automatically is the top-level category you've applied; any sublevel categories also automatically appear as tags.) To maximize the chances of buyers finding your item, you want to use as many tags as you're allowed. If you run out of ideas for tags, turn to your trusty thesaurus for help.
Type a material in the Materials field and click the Add button.
You can apply as many as 13 materials to your listing. To maximize exposure, enter as many materials as you can.
Finish your listing, review it, and publish it!
Happy selling!
