How to Position Home Theater Surround-Sound Speakers

Thanks for the description. I have a home theater room challenge. The room is 24 x 28 feet, I sit 18 feet from the tv, there are 15 feet of windows along the north wall to the right of the tv and 7 feet along the south wall. I'm not sure what size or type of HD tv to buy to replace the old 50" projection or what type of HDMI home theater will be needed to fill the room. Wireless surround speakers would be nice. Please help! Bruce
