How to Personalize Your Marketing Video YouTube Channel

After you set up a YouTube channel for your marketing videos, you can personalize it and make it look more attractive for viewers. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Edit Channel button.

  2. If you want to change the background color of your channel, click Choose a Color and select a color you like.

    Use a color that reflects your company’s identity — for example, the color of your company logo. Then click Accept.

  3. Using the Background section on this page, upload a background picture to make your channel look unique.

    It can be any picture that shows your product, or it can be simply an attractive background pattern. Users see only the image on both sides of the main content area in the middle of the screen.

  4. Choose Info and Settings in the top bar.

  5. In the Title field, enter a title for your channel.

    You may pick your business name, for example, or a description of the topic your channel covers.

  6. Enter a brief description text that explains what your channel is about.

    This text appears on your YouTube channel page and helps users understand what you have to offer.

  7. Enter some descriptive keywords in the Tags field.

    These keywords describe the topic of your channel. Use plenty of tags (at least 10 or 20) so that people can find your channel if they look for information about your topics. Separate your keywords with commas; for example: lawnmower, lawn care, lawn care experts.

  8. In the Default Tab box, choose Videos Tab.

    This option ensures that your newest videos appear on your channel’s front page.

  9. Click Done Editing.

Investing a bit of time in your channel’s background image pays off — it not only makes your channel look distinctive but also better carries your company’s brand image. As a starting point, look for YouTube backgrounds at your favorite search engine to find lots of freely available background images.

Sometimes, you see other YouTube channels that have highly customized layouts with large, graphical headers or even interactive elements. Unfortunately, these bells and whistles aren’t available to everyone. You have to do one of the following:

  • Become a YouTube partner. To become a partner, you need approximately 100,000 video views.

  • Be a good advertising customer on YouTube. As a good customer, you should spend at least a high five-figure dollar amount.
