How to Hang a Shape Below Another Shape in a PowerPoint 2007 Organization Chart
Besides the standard relationship between shapes above and below one another in a chart, PowerPoint lets you create hanging relationships. In PowerPoint you can create a hanging relationship between shapes before or after you create the subordinate shapes. In a hanging relationship, the line hangs from a shape, and subordinate shapes are connected to the line.
Select the shape to which other shapes will hang or are hanging and follow these steps to create a hanging relationship:
Select the (SmartArt Tools) Design tab.
The Design view opens up.
Click the Layout button.
The Layout screen comes to life.
Select an option on the drop-down list — Both, Left Hanging, or Right Hanging.
The Standard option on the drop-down list is for creating a standard relationship, not a hanging relationship.
