How to Find Influencers for Your Brand on Klout

After your brand’s social media accounts are connected to Klout, you can begin to search for influencers you wish to connect with. You can search by name, Klout Score, or topic of influence, depending on your need.

Interactions on the Klout website itself are limited, so you still need to rely on your other social media networks to interact with your followers. Still, you can endorse others and create lists for influencers using Klout, and this may prove beneficial if you decide to run a Klout Perk for your brand.

How to view Influencers from Facebook and Twitter

When you connect your social networks to Klout, you are automatically connected with influencers you follow and connect with on your social networks. You can view these users by clicking Friends on the navigation bar at the top of your Klout page.

After you’ve clicked Friends, you can view your fellow influencers a number of ways. First, this is a list of influencers you follow, not those who follow you or your brand.

As indicated in the sidebar on the left side of your screen, influencers you follow are sorted based on the network on which you follow them. Currently, you can view influencers via your connected Twitter and Facebook accounts.

To view influencers connected from Facebook, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Klout.com by signing in to the site in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  2. Point your browser to your Friends page by clicking Friends on the navigation bar at the top of the page.

  3. Select Facebook from the sidebar on the left side of the screen.

The main screen populates with user information and options for sorting influencers (Influencer Landscape, Unregistered, Alphabetical, and Top Klout Score)3.

The default tab is the Influencer Landscape. Available only for Facebook connections, this interactive screen sorts your influencers by Score using eye-catching, colorful graphics. The larger dots represent higher Klout Scores and the smaller dots represent lower Scores.

Hover over any dot to view an influencer’s name, Klout Score, and connected networks. You may also click a dot to open that influencer’s Profile page.

To view influencers by Top Klout Score, select the Top Score tab on the Facebook Friends page. Your influencers are sorted by Klout Score from highest to lowest.

Looking at influencers with the highest Klout Score may be helpful in determining who might make a good match for your brand. Remember that Klout Scores are only one measure of influence, but as a part of a bigger picture, can shed light on many users who might not otherwise be in the spotlight but are really great at engaging their communities.

To view influencers connected via Twitter, the process is similar to finding Facebook friends.

  1. Log in to Klout.com by signing in to the site in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  2. Point your browser to your Friends page by clicking Friends on the navigation bar at the top of the page.

  3. Select Twitter from the sidebar on the left side of the screen.

Your Twitter influencers have only two sorting options (Recently Followed and Highest Klout Score) on the main screen.

You can sort by Twitter users you’ve recently followed as well as by Klout Score using the tabs at the top of the screen. Click any of the icons to view the Profile page for a particular user.

How to use Klout Pulse to search for top influencers

Klout uses a feature called Klout Pulse to harvest the Internet’s top influencers in specific fields like athletics, politics, and entertainment. Klout highlights current events and hot topics, and this is a great way to find out how some of the most influential people on the web use social media.

When you click a Pulse category, you see a ranking of the top influencers in that category, each influencer's Klout Score, links to each influencer's Klout profile and social media accounts, and a recent post.

Click Pulse from the navigation bar at the top of the screen to view these top performer lists curated by Klout.
