How to Export Your Outlook Contact List into Twitter
You want to gather the people you initially know in order to build Twitter followers for your marketing campaign. The best and easiest way to find people to follow is to start with the people you already know. The best way to do this is to gather your contact lists, especially if you have them scattered around on different e-mail programs.
You can export most e-mail address books to a .csv file and then upload the file to other e-mail programs.) If most of your e-mail addresses are in an e-mail program that sits on your hard drive, you need to take a few easy steps to find out whether any of your contacts are already on Twitter.
Follow these steps to export e-mail contacts from Outlook:
Open Outlook and then choose File, Import and Export.
The Import and Export Wizard appears.
From the Choose an Action to Perform list, select Export to a File, and then click Next.
From the Create a File of Type list, select Comma Separated Values (Windows) and then click Next.
Scroll down the list of folders and select Contacts as the folder you want to export from. Then click Next.
By default, you are presented with a hidden folder when you can save your Contacts.
Click the Browse button, and in the Browse dialog box that appears, select where you want to save the file.
Save the file in a place where it’s easy to find, such as on the desktop.
Enter a name for the file in the File Name text box.
Give the file an obvious name.
Click OK to close the dialog box.
The file you selected appears in the Save Exported File text box.
Click Next and then click Finish.
