How to Edit Photos on Your Kindle Fire HDX

When you have captured a photo using your Kindle Fire HDX, you can use editing tools to modify it. The set of editing tools available in the latest edition of the Photos app are impressive: You can do everything from cropping and reducing red eye to rotating the photo, adjusting contrast and brightness, and even drawing or adding little stickers to a photo.

To edit a photo, follow these steps:

  1. On the Home screen, tap Photos in the libraries.

  2. Locate a photo you want to edit and tap it.

  3. Tap the Menu button and then tap Edit.

In the screen that appears (see the following figure), use the tools at the bottom of the screen to edit the photo. You can scroll to the right to see additional tools.

  4. To try out some of these tools, tap the Rotate button and then tap the arrow buttons to rotate the image.

  5. Tap the Back button on the Options bar to return to the main Edit screen.

  6. Tap the Stickers button and choose an image such as eyeglasses or a heart to place on your photo; when the sticker appears, press on it and drag it to the place on the photo where you want it to appear.

  7. Tap the Back button on the Options bar to return to the main Edit screen.

  8. Tap the Crop button and then press and drag the corners of the crop area in or out to include the portion of the photo you want to keep; tap Apply to crop the image.

  9. To save your edits, tap the Done button.
