You may not want certain AutoFormat features to be active as you type in your Word 2007 document. Luckily, you can disable them by using the AutoFormat As You Type tab in the AutoCorrect dialog box.

1

Choose the Word Options command from the Office Button menu.

The Word Options dialog box steps front and center.

2

Select Proofing from the left side of the dialog box.

A window of proofing options displays in the right side of the dialog box.

3

Click the AutoCorrect Options button.

The AutoCorrect dialog box displays.

4

Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab in the AutoCorrect dialog box.

This part of the dialog box is where all the AutoFormat options dwell.

5

Set the options as you like.

Turning an option off or on is as easy as removing or adding a check mark.

6

Click the AutoFormat tab.

Gadzooks! More options.

7

Set the options on the AutoFormat tab.

Repeat your choices here.

8

Click OK to confirm your choices, and close the Word Options dialog box.

Mission accomplished!
