How to Create Your Blog on Google Blogger

2 of 8 in Series: The Essentials of Setting Up a Google Blogger Blog

After you create a Google account (if you don't already have one), you need to create your blog on Google Blogger. Google offers a simple process to get your Google Blogger blog up and running:

1

Go to Google Blogger's home page and enter your e-mail address and password in the appropriate text boxes, then click the Sign In button.

The Name Your Blog page appears.

2

Enter the title of your blog in the Blog Title text box.

Your blog title appears at the top of your blog and gives visitors an idea of what your blog is about. You can change your blog title at any time.

3

In the Blog Address (URL) text box, enter the domain name that you want to precede the .blogspot.com, and then click the Check Availability link.

Blogger has more than 14 million blogs, which means that your first blog address choice is probably not available. If necessary, try different names until you find one that is available.

4

Click the Continue button.

The Choose a Template page opens.

5

On the Choose a Template page, use the scroll bar to view the available Blogger templates.

You can preview each template in a larger format by clicking the Preview Template link beneath each template option.

6

Select the radio button below your chosen template.

This step tells Blogger which template you want to use for your new blog.

7

Click the Continue button to make the Your Blog Has Been Created page appear.

You're now an official member of the blogosphere.

8

Click the Start Blogging button.

The Create a Post page appears. From this page, you can begin blogging. It's that easy!
