How to Create a WordPress Static Page
A static page is a web page that is not dynamically updated, chronologically like a blog. It can serve as a portal to a blog, portfolio, and other sections of your site.
1
From the WordPress Dashboard, choose Pages→Add New.
The Add New Page screen opens where you can create a new page for your WordPress site.
2
Type a title for the new page.
The title of the page should represent its relative location in the site and ideally include relevant keywords.
3
Type the content of your page in the text box.
The content you include here is up to you. You can simply use text or a combination of text and images, and even a featured image if your theme is using that feature in WordPress.
If this will be the first page on your site, leave set to no, otherwise change as appropriate.
5
Set the template option.
If you are not using the Default template for the current page change as appropriate.
6
Modify the order attribute if appropriate.
Change only if you are not using the WordPress built-in menu feature but are using the template tag. The order attribute is the rank you’d like this page to appear in your non-WordPress navigation menu.
Preview your page by clicking the preview button in the upper-right corner. When you’re satisfied with your page, click the publish button The page is saved to your database and published to your WordPress site with its own, individual URL (or permalink). The URL for the static page consists of your Web site URL and the title of the page. You can also save the page for later work or move the page to trash.
