How to Create a New Facebook Ad from an Existing Ad
The easiest way to do split-testing is to copy all the information from an existing Facebook ad to a new ad. That way, you can tweak the one thing you want to change and keep everything else the same. To create a new ad from an existing ad that you’ve created, follow these steps:
Log in to Facebook as your personal Profile.
You’re on your personal home page.
Click the Ads Manager link on the left column.
You’re taken to the Ads Manager page.
Click the name of the campaign that your ad is in.
You see a screen with the ads within that campaign and the various statistics they have. Assuming that you’re just starting, you see just the one ad that you’ve created.
Click the ad’s name.
The ad area expands to show you the stats and an ad preview.
Click the Create a Similar Ad link below the preview.
You’re taken to the design section of Facebook ads. All the information from the earlier ad is automatically filled in, and you can change the copy, the image, the title, and the demographics for your split-test.
You can save a draft of the ad in the Creative Library, but you won’t be able to save the targeting. You can set the campaign to run at a certain time in the future if you want to save all the information for later.
