How to Change Your Company’s Timeline Cover Image on Facebook
As your brand grows and evolves, you may want to change your Facebook Timeline cover image. You want to convey the right message to your customers, and like your brand, this message may change. To change your Timeline cover image:
Hover your mouse on your Timeline cover photo’s bottom-right corner and click Change Cover when it appears.
On the Change Cover drop-down menu, choose where you want to upload your image from.
You have these choices:
Choose from Photos: If you want to use a photo that already resides in your Page’s Photo Albums, choose this option.
Upload Photo: If you want to upload an image from your computer, choose this option.
Reposition: You can keep your current cover photo and simply reposition it by clicking and holding the cover photo, then dragging it to its new position.
Remove: You can remove the cover photo completely with this option. You don’t have to remove the current cover photo in order to change it. Instead, you can just choose one of the first two options.
Click Save Changes.
Once you have changed your over image, it’s time to add some finishing touches. From here, you can
Pin content: Make certain posts or images sticky, meaning they’ll stay in the same location until you unpin them. Pinning content is a good way to highlight sales events, announcements, and promotional campaigns. The pins only last for a week, unless you unpin or pin another item before the seven days are up. Please note, Facebook only allows you to pin one item at a time.
Share your brand’s story: Because Facebook’s Timeline allows you to upload content in chronological order, you can now go back to the day your brand launched, even if it’s 100 years ago. Scan old newspaper articles, advertisements, photos, and more. Give your community a transparent look into your brand’s past.
Explore apps: Make your brand’s Page even more interactive with apps that allow you to poll your community, share videos, share slides from presentations, post testimonials from customers, connect your Twitter account, share your blog posts, and so much more.
Don’t go overboard with the bells and whistles. When you have too many items pinned to your Timeline or if your Page is nothing but Twitter updates and blog feeds, it will become too cluttered and confusing. Take the time to research the best apps for your community and use them in a way so that they don’t assault the senses.
