How to Browse Facebook Groups

If you aren't looking for specific groups on Facebook but still want to get a sense of what Facebook groups are out there, you can browse them at your leisure. Take a look at what groups are popular among your networks, or browse for groups that fall under a certain areas of interest. Whatever you’re looking for, there’s bound to be a group for it. If not, you can always create one!

To browse through the available groups, follow these steps:

1

Navigate to the Groups page.

Click Groups in the Applications menu on the lower left-hand corner of the page.

2

Click the Browse Groups link at the top of the page.

By default, Facebook displays a random list of interesting groups that you have permission to see, beginning with those that belong to your networks.

3

Use the options on the right-hand sidebar to filter the displayed list by group network or type.

These options filter browsing results just as they filter search results.

You can also browse groups that are popular among your friends and networks. Whenever you visit the Groups page, you see a running list of groups recently joined by your friends in the left column. Your friends don’t manually suggest these groups to you; Facebook assumes that your friends join groups that interest them and automatically pushes those groups to you. To see all groups recently joined by your friends, click the See All link on the column’s title bar or the See All Recent Groups Joined by Friends link at the bottom of the list.
