This video shows you how to add movement when shooting digital video with a tripod by demonstrating how to take a pan shot and how to take a tilt shot. For a pan shot, you move the camera in the same direction as the actors (right to left or left to right horizontally). You move the camera along with the actors. In the video, the actors are walking along a road, and the camera moves with them. To keep your audience from feeling uncomfortable, limit pan shots to one per scene. For a tilt shot, you move the camera up and down (vertically) rather than right and left. In the video, notice how the camera moves down into the scene, starting at the sky and tree line and ending up with the actors on the road.
