How to Add Applications to Your Business’s Facebook Page
4 of 10 in Series: The Essentials of Creating a Facebook Page to Market Your Business
Facebook created a directory to help you find an app that might enhance your business presence on Facebook. This directory provides quick and easy access to more than 52,000 apps in its library.
Go to the Facebook Application Directory and locate an app.
You can check out the list of apps you might like on the directory’s welcome screen; search for apps by keyword, application name, or type; click the Business tab in the left column to access a good selection of business-related apps; or click the Pages link at the bottom of the left column to view specific apps that install on Pages.
Click the link for the app you want to add to your business’s Facebook Page.
The app’s Page appears. Much like other pages, the app’s Page offers a Wall, company info, reviews, discussions, and profile photos of friends who use this application (if any), and allows for some degree of customization. You can even become a fan by clicking the Like button.
Click the Go to Application button.
Facebook displays an installation page, Request for Permission, where you permit the app to access your Facebook Page or profile.
Select the page on which you want to install the app, if necessary.
If you have more than one Page, the Request for Permission page lists the various Pages and asks you on which Page you want to install the app.
Click the Allow button to give the app permission to install.
Alternatively, if you don’t want to grant the app access to your information, click the Leave Application button. However, you can’t use an app for which you haven’t approved permissions.
Facebook takes you to the app’s Facebook canvas page, or home page, where, depending on the app, you might need to add additional information. The app appears in the tabs section of the Page you selected.
