How to Add a Custom Avatar to Your Twitter Social Marketing Page

Your Twitter avatar is the small image next to your @name that folks see every time you tweet. If yours is a personal brand, you may want to use an image showing your likeness. If you’re managing a professional brand, consider using a logo for your avatar. This avatar is likely to become how followers and customers will recognize your brand.

This avatar will also be what sets you apart from the dozens of other brands out there. So while creativity is good, you also want something that will communicate a message about your brand.

Uploading an avatar is simple:

  1. Click the Edit Your Profile button in the top-right corner of your profile page to access the different editing options.

  2. Choose Profile from the left menu that appears.

  3. Click Choose File to access the file you wish to upload.

  4. Select the image you want to use as your avatar.

  5. Click Save Changes.

Feel free to change your avatar to reflect the seasons or holidays, but you want your logo to remain familiar to your community. If you change your avatar more than people change shoes, your brand isn’t going to be very recognizable on Twitter.
