How to Access Common Excel 2007 File Commands

You can run Excel 2007's basic file commands in two different ways: by pressing a combination of shortcut keys or by clicking in the Excel Ribbon. The following chart shows some of the most common file commands in Excel 2007 and the two ways you can access them:

| Microsoft Office Button | New | Alt+FN | Displays the New Workbook dialog box, where you can open a blank workbook or one from a template. |
| Microsoft Office Button | Open | Alt+FO or Ctrl+O | Displays the Open dialog box, where you can select an Excel workbook to open for editing or printing. |
| Microsoft Office Button | Save | Alt+FS or Ctrl+S | Saves changes to a workbook. When you first select this command for a new workbook, Excel displays the Save As dialog box. |
| Microsoft Office Button | Save As | Alt+FA | Display the Save As dialog box, where you can modify the filename, location where the file is saved, and format that the file is saved in. |
| Microsoft Office Button | Print | Alt+FP or Ctrl+P | Displays the Print dialog box to send the current worksheet, workbook, or cell selection to the printer. |
