Healthcare Reconciliation Passes the House
3 of 8 in Series: The Essentials of Healthcare Reform
March 26, 2010. The last barrier to enacting comprehensive healthcare reform has been overcome. With a vote of 220 to 207, the House approved a set of fixes to the bill President Obama signed into law a few days ago.
Although the House passed the reconciliations earlier this week, the Senate’s removal of two minor provisions that dealt with Pell grant funding forced the bill back to the House for a second vote.
President Obama is expected to sign the reconciliations into law next week.
