For Seniors: View Your Browsing History in Internet Explorer
As you visit various web pages, Internet Explorer (IE) tracks each page in its history. You can use the history in Internet Explorer to quickly revisit a web page, which is especially useful if you want to return but forget the name of the website or exactly how you found it in the first place.
IE keeps your browsing history until you clear it, or the History "bucket" becomes full. You can change the amount of disk space used to track history, in order to keep more or less browsing history as needed.
Click View→Explorer Bars→History
The History pane appears.
You can also click the Favorites button (the star) to display the Favorites list, and click the History tab.
Click the down arrow on the History button and select a sort method.
Choose View By Date to sort the browsing history by date visited. This sort is useful when you recall approximately when you visited a web page. Choose View By Site to sort the history alphabetically by site name. This sort is useful if you remember which site you saw the page you're looking for, but are not sure exactly how you navigated to it.
Choose View By Most Visited to sort with the sites visited most on top and those visited least at the bottom of the list. This sort is useful for locating a web page you know you visited a lot in the past. Choose View By Order Visited Today to sort by the order in which you visited sites today.
In the History pane, click a web page to go to it.
The page is displayed in the browser.
You can also choose the arrow on the right of the Address bar to display web pages you’ve visited.
