For Seniors: Play Music on Your Windows Laptop
Windows Media Player is a program you can use to play music on your Windows laptop. During playback, you can pause the music, jump to a particular track (song), skip tracks and even replay them if needed. You can play music you've copied to your laptop, or music on a CD.
You can create music playlists to play music tracks in the order you want.
Choose Start→All Programs→Windows Media Player.
Windows Media Player starts.
Click the Library button and then double-click Music or Playlists.
A library of music appears.
Double-click an album or playlist to open it.
The titles of the songs are displayed in the right pane.
Click a track, and then click the Play button.
The music track begins playing.
Use tools that appear at the bottom of the screen to control the playback, if desired.
Click Pause to pause the music, or Stop to stop it completely. If you click Pause, click Play to resume playback. Click the Next or Previous buttons to move to the next or previous track in an album or playlist. Use the Mute and Volume controls to pump the sound up or down without having to modify the Windows volume settings.
Rather than using the Next and Previous buttons, you can double-click a track in the track list in the Media Player window to play that track.
Tired of the order in which your tracks play? You can use the List Options button on the Play Pane and chose Shuffle List to have Windows Media Player play the tracks on your album randomly. Click this button again to turn the shuffle feature off.
