Google Maps for iPad allows you to pin (mark) locations on its map, such as your current location or a particular address, landmark, or business. Pin locations in iPad's Google Maps that you want to be able to find quickly.

In addition to locations you may pin yourself, iPad's Google Maps generates its own pins to mark special locations on the map. A green pin marks a start location, a red pin marks a search result, and a blue pin (referred to as the blue marker) marks your iPad’s current location. If you drop a pin yourself, it appears in a lovely purple.

Once you close a map, it's pins are removed. If you pin a location you want to refer to again and again, add a bookmark.

Display a map that contains a spot where you want to drop a pin.

You might mark a place you want to visit, or a place of special interest.

If you need to, you can zoom in to a more detailed map.

Zooming in allows you to see more precisely the location you want to pin.

Press and hold your finger on the screen at the location where you want to place the pin.

A pin appears, together with an information bar.

Tap the Information icon on the information bar.

Details about the pin’s location appear.

To delete a pin you’ve added, tap the pin to display the information bar and then tap the Information icon. In the Information dialog that opens, tap Remove Pin. This method works only with pinned sites that aren’t bookmarked.
