For Seniors: Organize Favorite Websites in Internet Explorer

After accumulating a list of favorite websites in Internet Explorer (IE), organize your favorites to make them easier to use. Organize favorite websites using folders, to group like websites together. For example, if you are researching digital cameras, you can save useful websites you might want to revisit in a Favorites folder called Digital Cameras.

Open IE, click the Favorites button to open the Favorites pane, then click the arrow on the Add to Favorites button and choose Organize Favorites.

The Organize Favorites dialog box appears.

Click the New Folder, Move, Rename, or Delete buttons to organize your favorites.

Click the New Folder button and type a name to create a new folder. To move items into this new folder (or any other), select an item by clicking it, then click the Move button and choose a folder to move that item to.

Rename an item by selecting it, clicking the Rename button and typing a new name. Delete an item by selecting it and clicking the Delete button. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

When you finish organizing your Favorites, click Close.

The Organize Favorites dialog box is closed.

You can also organize favorite sites using the Favorites pane. (You display the Favorites pane by clicking the Favorites button.) Right-click any favorite site listed in the pane and choose a command: Sort by Name, Rename, or Delete, for example. You can also drag and drop sites to move them into other folders.
