Dating After 50: Your Date Wants Someone Younger

Let's face it: There are prejudices about age. Most people over 50 who are healthy and fit think they look and feel younger than their chronological age. And if you're a 70-year-old who looks 60, you certainly have an advantage in the over-50 dating world.

However, even if you look ten years younger, you're still the age you are. You have to fess up to it — and for your sake, fess up as soon as possible. It may be a buzz kill for the person you're seeing, but what's worse is to have to maintain a lie that's bound to be exposed.

This one has no easy fix. If your date meant that he wanted someone 15 years younger than you are, so be it.

Sure, he may break the rule for someone with modeling good looks or for a billionaire, but that probably isn't you. Some great love matches have happened between people of disparate ages, but they're the exception, not the rule. If you like the odds on your side, stay within a reasonable age range of your dates.

You're not the only one who's fit and looks younger than you are. You can find someone your own age who climbs mountains or dances all night if that's what you're looking for.
