It’s data entry time! Before you can use your contacts, you need to get them onto Kindle Fire. The manual way to do that is to simply create new contacts and enter the information in the New Contact form.

To create a new contact, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Menu button on the Options bar and then tap the New Contact button to create a new contact.

The New Contact screen that appears contains fields including Name Prefix, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, and Name Suffix.

  2. Tap in a field and enter text.

The onscreen keyboard appears when you tap in a field.

  3. When you’re done entering text in one field, tap the Next button on the onscreen keyboard to go to the next field.

Be sure to scroll to the bottom and enter phone and e-mail address information. You can also expand fields for Postal Address and Organization.

  4. Tap the Photo icon to add a photo.

    The Gallery appears.

  5. Double-tap to open a photo album; then tap a photo to display it.

    The photo appears full screen.

  6. Move the arrows on the edges of the orange box surrounding the image to crop it, if you want.

  7. Tap Save.

You return to the New Contact form.

  8. Tap the Save Changes button to save the new contact.
