Create and Upload a Banner to Your Etsy Shop
A great way to personalize your Etsy shop is to add a shop banner — a graphic that runs across the top of the page. Your banner, which you can change whenever the fancy strikes you, should incorporate your shop name, give viewers some idea of what they'll find in your shop, and reflect your aesthetic and overall branding.
Making a simple banner is a breeze. The trick is ensuring it's the correct size. All banners must be 760 pixels wide and 100 pixels high. To build your banner, any image-editing program will work — even one that might have come pre-installed on your computer, such as Microsoft Paint.
To build a banner using Microsoft Paint, follow these steps:
Launch Microsoft Paint.
Click the Resize button.
Click the Pixels option button.
Click the Maintain Aspect Ratio check box to deselect it.
In the Horizontal field, type 760.
In the Vertical field, type 100.
Click the OK button. Paint creates a canvas that's the correct size for your banner.
Use the various tools to create your banner, adding shapes, colors, and text as desired.
When you're finished, save the banner as a JPEG. To do so, click the tab in the upper-left corner and choose Save As from the menu that appears. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the file, type a name for it (such as Etsy Shop Banner) in the File Name field, click the Save as Type drop-down list and choose JPEG, and click the Save button.
After you've saved your banner image, you can load upload it to Etsy. Just do the following:
After logging in to Etsy, click the Your Shop link along the top of any Etsy page.
If your shop is not yet set up, you'll see the Shop Name page, with an Add Shop Banner link; click it. If your shop is already set up, click the Info & Appearance link; the Info & Appearance page opens.
In the Shop Banner Image section, click the Browse button.
Locate and select your banner file; then click the Open button.
Click the Save Changes button. Etsy uploads your banner to your shop.
Et voilà! Your shop is festooned with your lovely banner.
