okra: Plant pods used in soups or stews, or served as a side dish.
oleic acid: Animal tallow (the solid fat of sheep and cattle separated from the membranous tissues), vegetable fats and oils.
omega-3: A fatty acid found in fish oil that lowers your risk of heart attack and stroke, and boosts the immune system.
omelet: A dish based on beaten eggs, cooked in a flat mass, usually in a skillet; often served folded over with various fillings.
organic: A term used to describe foods that have been grown or raised without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, or antibiotics and growth hormones.
o-toro: The most choice of all tuna meat. From the fattiest part of the belly, near the head. Very pale pink and melts on the tongue.
oven mitt: A form of potholder shaped like a mitten, into which you place your hand to protect it entirely.
