Displaying information on a Web site is its own art. Keep these design tips in mind to build your own original, clear, and user-friendly Web site:

  1. Create reusable graphics.

  2. Use templates whenever possible.

  3. Use CSS (cascading style sheets) in place of the <font> tag.

  4. Resize and optimize graphics before adding them to a web page.

  5. Do not resize graphics using the <img> tag.

  6. Do not use Flash introductions; they’re no longer in style.

  7. Avoid using long paragraphs.

  8. Use Heading styles to break up a page.

  9. Break up large amounts of text with graphic images.

  10. Keep the home page short and simple.
