Algebra Glossary: I

improper fraction: A fraction whose numerator is larger than the denominator.

inequality: Relationship between two unequal values.

infinite: Without end; uncountable, as in a repeating decimal

integer: A positive or negative whole number or zero; numbers starting with zero and going up or down in increments of one.

intercept: Point where a graph crosses the x-axis or y-axis.

intersection: Point shared by two lines.

irrational number: Number with no fractional equivalent whose decimal never repeats or terminates.
